Case Study

A multi-generation company ensuring that sustainability is part of their future

Furnware is a school furniture manufacturer. Founder, Hamish Whyte, and his sons, Matt and Harry, wanted sustainable energy to be a part of the company’s future. After commissioning Greener to design and install a system they received these benefits:

The difference between estimated yearly output and measured yearly output after year 1.

34,963kWh estimated vs 37,557kWh measured

Explanation: our engineers estimate how many kilowatt hours a system will produce each year so we can provide our clients with the probable benefits to assist their decision making regarding solar. Accuracy is very important in this evaluation and if anything, we prefer to be conservative in our estimates as seen by the 7.5% higher measured output for Furnware.

Online Monitoring

The performance of the solar system is measured by an online platform that shows both real time and historic information on how much power the solar system generates.

Furnware has the real time generation information displaced on a screen in their office so their staff and clients can see how much solar energy is being generated at any one time.

We incorporated solar to ensure the sustainability of Furnware for generations to come. We are happy to have partnered with Greener for this journey.

5 Day Installation

The system was installed by our expert in-house team and did not impact the daily operation of Furnware in anyway.

We typically crane the panels onto a roof outside of business hours so not to take up car park space. Then our team mostly works on the roof, away from business operations. Apart from hearing some footsteps on the roof, it is like we are not there.
